American Immigration Lawyers Association Hosts Education Conference
As an immigration attorney, Christopher Stender has spent several years practicing law in the San Diego, California area. He has also defended clients in New York and Arizona. When not in the courtroom or office, attorney Christopher Stender maintains membership with several immigration law-based organizations, one of which includes the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
The AILA is a national association comprised of more than 14,000 attorneys and law professors, all of whom practice or teach immigration law. Members represent clients ranging from people in the United States seeking permanent residence for their family members to American businesses looking for international workers.
Throughout the year, the AILA hosts events for members to gather, network, and learn. On October 2, 2015, it will sponsor the AILA Fall Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the 2014 conference, attendees listened to speakers discuss the art of removal defense when helping immigrant clients. They read supporting sample litigation documents and received access to a special seminar on how to better navigate ethical issues. Faculty members were also on-hand to assist with the conference.
