About Christopher Stender

Attorney Christopher Stender began his career in 1990 as an Assistant Chief Counsel with the Immigration and Naturalization Service in San Diego, California. Three years later, he created his own firm, Stender & Larkin, which amalgamated a network of lawyers throughout the southwest region of the United States. Eleven years later, Christopher Stender started another firm, Stender & Pope, PC, which for four years operated out of Phoenix, Arizona, and San Diego. In 2008, Mr. Stender founded San Diego-based Stender & Associates, PC, where he continues to practice.

Over the course of his career, Christopher Stender has argued cases in a number of courts, including the Connecticut Supreme Court, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of New York, the Arizona Federal District Court, the Arizona Supreme Court, the First, Fifth, and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Stender has been a member of several bar associations. He currently belongs to the New York State Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. Christopher Stender is active in a number of professional organizations, including the San Diego and Arizona chapters of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Arizona Chapter of the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, and the Immigration Section of the Arizona State Bar. In the past, Mr. Stender served as Vice President of the Arizona Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Over the years, Mr. Stender has published his opinions on numerous cases.

Christopher Stender began his undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1983, and received his Bachelor of Arts in 1987. During this period, Mr. Stender spent a year studying at the University of Wurzburg in Germany. He subsequently earned his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1990.

Christopher Stender has provided support to a number of charities, including the Tijuana Schools Mission, Homeless Outreach, and the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. He has traveled to nations throughout the world. Mr. Stender is an avid reader and loves to play racquetball.
